Just a little announcement about what's coming up
Hey everyone! I’ve been deep in some book prep the last few weeks — I know that Monsters, Makeup & Effects: Volume 3 probably doesn’t matter much these days since there is this other “fancier” book coming out soon, but I made a commitment to these 76 artists, so I’m getting this next book wrapped soon anyway.
Beyond that, I’ve been aware that being on/being associated with Substack comes with a bit of controversy these days, as I had no idea when I signed up at the start of the year that this platform had some nefarious practices when it comes to Nazis. I had been so out of the loop in terms of all this kind of stuff for a while, so I was thrilled to set up shop here initially but it hasn’t really felt like a good thing to keep going considering everything going on in the world these days.
With that being said, I am off from work at the end of this week and one of my focuses will be migrating over to Ghost (you can sign up HERE). It’s a pretty risky venture, and to be honest, I don’t know if it’s going to work because I’m going to have to financially commit to running my site there, so I’m sure as heck going to try my darnedest to continue doing what I love so my fingers are crossed (and then some) that folks are willing to make this switch along with me.
So, for those of you who already have a paid subscription here, that should carry over to the new site as I’m able to import my subscribers there. And of course, there will still be a free subscriber tier available as well.
In any case, for anyone following me here, you will get ported over to my site on Ghost at some point over the weekend and I’ll be sure to send an email to let you all know what to expect, etc. in the coming days.
So, for everyone who has supported me so far, I just want to say thank you for everything. You made me love writing again and have been so kind to support me thus far, and I do hope you’ll continue on this journey with me as I get things figured out in my new writing home.
